Rock The Block featuring Cedar County Cobras
Cedar County Cobras arrive with a collection of instruments to play boot-stompin' music that can only be found down the gravel roads of Iowa. Often seen as a duo or a trio, the music has been described as contagious, acoustic rockabilly, dancing bluegrass, or brand new old-time country with the gritty sound of soulful blues. It is almost impossible to box the sound of The Cobras into one musical genre when you hear an eclectic mix of acoustic blues and gypsy mandolin tunes that can only be heard in the cobra songs.

FREE COMMUNITY MEDITATION: Year-Long Meditation
Free community meditation - On July 16 a Year Long Meditation was launched — a group practice for infusing collective consciousness with love and compassion, mutual understanding, and positive focus while eradicating fear and all the qualities that arise from it so prevalent in ourselves, our societies, and the collective today. As you're so well aware, the practitioner of meditation is the first to benefit in these ways, while bringing forward a greater outward positive change. A goal of practicing collectively for 1,000,008 hours has been set, such that the energy generated therein by the people connected to this practice, further concentrated and synergistically enhanced via group practice, will have a significant impact.

The Year Long Meditation is open to all—individuals and groups alike. First is the intention to be a part of this grand group practice; second, is to sign up atwww.yearlongmeditation.org thus making your intention known, and tracking your minutes/hours of meditation in your personal account. This is how we know when 1,000,008 hours have been reached! (And if the practice surpasses that by July 2020, all the better!) For groups, such as Fields of Yoga Festival, one would sign up the organization by entering, for example, Fields of Yoga Festival in the First Name field, and Cedar Rapids IA in the Last Name field. Then the time spent in meditation practice in class by participants at the Festival could be logged and thereby contribute to the group practice. Additionally, all the individuals can open their own personal account and be a part of the practice in that way as well (ie, daily practice at home for the year).

So it is the intention to expand ourselves at this time and be a positive force of change for humanity that would inspire Fields of Yoga Festival and its participants to join in. Once connected, Year Long Meditation provides (optional) tools and resources, study and support online. And there's a social media component where practitioners can connect, contribute inspiration, and share experiences, etc. This year-long group practice is hosted by the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA, and launched at the consecration of the newly established Sri Vidya Shrine - at HI, for humanity. You'll find more at www.YearLongMeditation.org. You are already helping people find their equanimity and bring more peace and calm to their lives... connecting to the Year Long Meditation in no way detracts from these benefits, rather, only enhances them via the power of group practice.
